Below is our technician oath. Each of our technicians lives by this oath and violation of it means removal from the firm.
I swear by; Alan Turing, Charles Babbage, Data, and All Knowledge that according to my ability, skill and judgment, I will keep this oath and this stipulation – to reckon he who taught me this art equally dear to me as existence, to share my knowledge with the public, relieve their issues if required; to look upon their systems as my own, and to teach others this art, if they shall wish to learn it. By that precept, lecture and inform every each user of each action. I will follow the procedures of the technician which, according to my ability, judgment and skill consider the benefit of users and abstain from whatever is a deleterious and mischievous action. I will give no false nor temporary solution to anyone if asked, nor suggest any such counsel. With loyalty and good intentions I will pass my life and practice my art. I will not perform any project beyond my knowledge but will leave this to be done by practitioners of that field. Into whatever houses I enter, I will go into them for the benefit of the user and will abstain from every voluntary act of mischief and corruption; and, further from the breaching user data and privacy. Whatever, in connection with my professional practice or not, in connection with it, I see or hear in the data of the user, which ought not to be spoken of abroad, I will not divulge, as reckoning that all such information should be kept secret. While I continue to keep this oath unviolated, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and the practice of the art, respected by all users, in all times! With best intentions in mind, I still reserve the right to refuse counsel to any user without reason. But should I trespass and violate this oath, may the reverse be my lot!
